Someone wants to visit Poland :D !

Brainie, 10 lat temu

Hi, Cześć ^^

My nickname is Brainie, I play with GROM and I'm French (actually living in Canada). I am going to visit my friend in Warsaw and I will also take this as an occasion to visit Poland. I'll only be in Warsaw and maybe I'll come to Krakow for a day or so (not sleeping there). I will be there for approximatively two weeks.

I came here to ask you if you could tell me what should I see in particular in Warsaw and Krakow? I'm sure she knows what to show me but I wanted to ask to other Polish people so that I could have a little list of things to do to enjoy the whole time there :D ! I don't have a specific budget. I won't be rich but not too poor I guess. Rich enough to buy my food, buy some transport tickets and so on. But anyway everyone knows it: the cheaper the better :D Museums, historical places of course, but nothing sad please. I won't visit a chamber gas because I'd like to stay happy and this kind cruel  stuff is not for me. It could be a place outside Warsaw as long as it's not too far from it (I think Krakow would be the farther I could go). We won't have a car (we're both under 18).

Talking about transport, can anyone tell me how much does it cost to get a bus or train ticket? Do you think I could bring my student card to have some reductions?

Last thing is about the money. I can only take off money with my card in banking machines accepting a specific type of system (Cirrus or Maestro). Can you tell me if you have banking machines with Cirrus or Maestro systems please?

I think it's all I needed to ask... So any suggestions are welcomed and thank you in advance for your answers :) ! I hope the polish translation of this message will be good (yes I'm sorry, I only know few words of Polish which is a record atm, it's such a complicated language *-*) !

Cześć, Hi ^ ^

Mój nick to Brainie, gram z GROM i jestem francuski (faktycznie mieszka w Kanadzie).

Ostatnia rzecz, to chodzi o pieniądze.

Hello, nice to hear that someone is going to visit our country :) I was wondering why the heck do you want to get in here, but when i read "she" it went fully clear :D

Reffering to Maestro -> I don't have cards with that system but as i read on the official site it is possible and quite well available.

Reffering to tickets -> Don't know what execly you meant by "not poor not rich", it all depends on earnings in both cuntries. I bet ticked prices won't be expensive for you. If regards of discounts, well it's all up to transport regulations. We can divide tranposrt companies for such a 3 groups: PKP (train transport), PKS (intercity bus transport), MPK (within city transport). All have different regulations but they allow discounts for polish students. I don't know how it's about foreign ones)

Hope you will enjoy your stay :)

About sightseeing it's better to ask your lady. I would recommend my hometown Toruń (about three hours by train from Warsaw) for it is cheaper than both Warsaw and Kraków and no less beautiful. If you're a student u can have issued some international student card (like this one - http://www.isic.org/). Have some nice time in Poland.

You can also visit the Lublin find it some 120 km south of Warsaw. Maybe it's not so much a big city but pleasant to dwell in it to explore the castle and the old town is probably just that you are intrigued because the rest of the tour is a war such as concentration camp. How would you have wanted to visit the little-known town is invited. :)

Don't forget to drink Vodka. Going to Poland and not drinking Vodka is like going to Russia and not be mugged.

Hello!

First of all thank you very much for your answers! :)

LollyPop -> Yeah I've seen it on their website too. I think I'll prepare few ways to get money before I come (traveling checks, get more cash on me as much as possible, and so on).

So if for example I buy a train ticket, I can't use it for the metro too or the bus or any other transport right?

rastablaster -> Alright I'll see if we can get there! I have a student card but it's not international... I'll try to use it but it will be hard to make it valuable ^^

BaNaN -> Why does your post have -8 likes? :> I'll see about Lublin but if its only point is to visit concentration camps I might not go there. As I've said I want my mind happy and free, not sad!

Lisu -> That's exactly why I took fitness this next semester at school xD Seriously you've already tasted a bit of Polish food and omg it's awesome! Polish music is fantastic too. That's why I go to Poland eh he. I'm in love with Europe and I wanted to jump in something I've never known to discover! The preview I've had on Poland convinced me and luckily I have a correspondant friend who can host me!

Majki -> Is there a legal age to buy alchool? Would I risk something if I try to look as if I were older than 18 ?

brejnless -> I have a friend who wants to live in Sweeden. I'll wait for him eh he!

Bagheera -> Thanks for the suggestions! I'll see about Wieliczka ;) !

Thank you very much for your returns! Enjoy your summer =D !

Hello!

Thank you very much all for your informations and suggestions!

So it was a wonderful trip! I loved it and I love Poland! :D
I've been in Warsaw, I visited some villages around it. I also went to Krakow and visited the villages around it too. I've been into a lot of museums (Chopin Museum - ) and enjoyed it a lot! Unfortunately I can't remember the names because it's complicated to remember you know :p .

LollyPop -> I was wrong :) If you buy a ticket of transport in Warsaw, it is valid for very kind of transport! Btw the transport system is AWESOME. So clever and so fast to use!

I was amazed by the fact that after such a huge story Poland has gone trough, people knew how to look above and rebuild again. Today the mix of modernity and old buildings is beautiful!

So yeah, it was great! One of the best two weeks I've had in my life!

Djenkuje :)
